Wassup ‘08

I thought this video was quite excellent.  Visit the site, here.  It’s a fantastic view of the what has happened over the last 8 years, and if you remember the original budweiser commercial it certainly is quite more effective.

But, I’m willing to show you that too, in case you don’t remember.  Enjoy.

Halloween ‘08

Typically, I think you should do whatever you’d like this year for halloween, but I’m going to go out on a limb this year, and hope to nip this one in the bud.  Please by no means should you dress up like Sarah Palin.  It’s not that it’s not funny, but I’ve just got this feeling like there will be more than one Sarah Palin at the party, so please do yourself a favor, don’t be boring.

This really has nothing to do with being insensitive, it’s just that I am willing to bet someone else will think the idea is total gold.

Possible Halloween ‘08 alternates: Joe the Plumber, Joe Sixpack, or Geriatric Indiana Jones.

FAIL

The national debt clock in New York’s Times Square has officially run out of digits.  Apparently they just didn’t think we’d get past double digit trillions.  Now estimated at around 10.2 trillion, we are totally, screwed for the rest of my life.

I guess it is time to kiss our future good-bye.

US Government = FAIL

It is completely impossible for me to avoid at least mentioning the most important election we’ve had in years (although each one is important)  I really got a chuckle from this.

Culinary Madness – Mash Up #1
Posted by Kyle in Culinary Madness on 10 1st, 2008| | 3 Comments »

Mixing foods can be quite treacherous, finding the right mash up between two things, that won’t contrast too much in flavor, but will make for an amazing food, or possibly just a good portmanteau. Seeing as I got out of work early today, and my friendship with the child in me, I tested today, a wonderful concoction, that was quite interesting.

So for my new absurd mash up, I attempted a peanut butter and fluffernutter french toast sandwich.  Not exactly the benchmark for a healthy diet, but once you get past that, I’ll show you how I made it.

First start with 2 slices of bread, one egg, milk, cinnamon, and a mixing container.

Crack the egg into the container, put a tablespoon of milk in, and dust that sucker with as much cinnamon as you want.  Should look similar to this:

whisk it with a fork

Heat up a frying pan, make sure to spray some oil on it, I use olive oil spray, it’s got a flavor, and it’s heart healthy, and with meals like this, you might as well, right?

Lay the bread into the egg milk cinnamon batter, then into your warm and toasty frying pan.  For use of testing, I only french toast battered one side of my bread, of course you are certainly free to batter the two sided bread slice any way you’d like.

Toast the side until it is golden brown, then brown the other side.  Looks tasty doesn’t it?

Repeat the steps for another slice of bread, and lie it on a plate for the final steps!

Knife some peanut butter on a slice, and marshmallow fluff on a slice.

Put the sandwich together and eat that tasty strangeness.  Nothing like warm peanut butter and fluff.

Feel free to dunk each piece in syrup for extra sugary sensations.

Enjoy.
