SOX SUCCESS!

My Boston Red Sox have won the world series. Unfortunately, the series was weak, or should I say beating the Rockies was like kicking a puppy.  Sorry to the Rockies, baseball scheduling and red sox dominance really killed your team.

Oink, Down for the Count
Posted by Kyle in Interweb, Music on 10 26th, 2007| | No Comments »

Oink, the private website allowing users to share music has been taken down. Up to 180,000 people were members of OiNK, are missing their link to illegal music, after a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and infringement of copyright law.

What’s funny in all this seems to be a win for the RIAA, in retrospect, is there any point to shutting them down? They will never receive compensation for the millions upon millions of dollars, euros, rupees, and pounds that were not received as compensation for the downloaded music.

Furthermore, it’s not to say that we will not see something new in it’s place. So, they’ve won one battle, but the war has been lost for a long long time. You’ve got to wonder what exactly is the point. I guess they just need someone to be the fall guy, and in this case, it’s a 24 yr old, who has now become immortalized. Not to mention a replacement is already in the works, and being talked about over at torrentfreak, it’s newest iteration, boink.

Fret not you rabid downloaders and n’er’do’wells, for the information and data you seek is not far away.
