So I was browsing my regular spots, which means the Internet, and I came about a rather strange story on the island of Cyprus.
Apparently there has been some degradation upon the citizens of Cyprus especially speaking of the population of mothers on the island nation. They are to hold an event to become the world record for simultaneously breastfeeding children.
The present record stands are nearly 22,000 mothers simultaneously breastfeeding their babies. In an attempt to not only shatter the record, but to raise breastfeeding awareness in the nation, this event has been scheduled.
Organisers of the Cypriot event, held inside a small concert hall in Nicosia, said the east Mediterranean island lagged behind other countries in breastfeeding, and Wednesday’s attempt was partly aimed at coaxing more women back to it… Cypriot mothers said the pressures of modern life and the work environment were not conducive to breastfeeding.
I can see this is for a good cause in all, but maybe we have a bit too much time on our hands if we are congregating in a concert hall to be part of a mass breastfeeding event.
Maybe it’s just me. But for what it’s worth, at least shut the door so I don’t have to look. I know its natural, but I’m somewhat repulsed by the public display of hunger.
