Faceball – Your Face, Our Balls

It sounds stupid, but this could be the next great game that you need absolutely no skill. As if there weren’t enough games with absolutely no point, those crazy office dwellers have yet again found a way to waste time and money, in between checking their myspace account, and watching youtube videos.

Fear the ridiculousness that is faceball.

At its simplest level Faceball involves two people hitting beachballs at each other’s faces. At a deeper level it’s a vehicle for the release of personal animosity, and the shaming of the weak.

I might just buy an official ball…marketing genius!

Michael Vick pleads guilty

Good to see that you finally fessed up to the crime. Now it should be interesting what Roger Goddell does as far as the NFL is concerned. But as usual the NFL (national felons league) lives up to its name. I’m happy to see he will spend some time in prison, whether he is the scapegoat or not, someone’s got to go to jail, and it’s great to see that such a high profile star will actually see some time in prison.

(Insert insight, in a calm Springer-esque style)It’s these times that are good and bad, although he is probably a role model for some of America’s youth, and he shows what a poor example he is for said fans. But what we can learn from this, is that although these stars are completely glorified, they are at the end of the day, just humans, capable of the grandest of errors.

Lately I’ve not had any faith in our judicial system, although faith not restored, they get some respect for this one.

See you in 12-18 months Mike.

Chad Vader loses his luster

Chad Vader the popular YouTube web series has certainly lost hist touch. In the past this has been worth a look each new episode, but the most current I think lacks any of the comic content of his other posts. Check it for yourself, and at watch some of his other episodes out, which are worth watching.

Maybe I just don’t get it, but, it’s lost its luster. I know, and readily admit, they have been worth watching, but I think this one is not a gem. But hey, they can’t all be winners. I guess watching him sing Chocolate Rain just isn’t funny to me. There are plenty of people out there who think it is genius, unfortunately I disagree.

You may just be able to close the book on another web series lost in the vast abyss we call the information superhighway.

Too much time on our hands…

So I was browsing my regular spots, which means the Internet, and I came about a rather strange story on the island of Cyprus.

Apparently there has been some degradation upon the citizens of Cyprus especially speaking of the population of mothers on the island nation. They are to hold an event to become the world record for simultaneously breastfeeding children.

The present record stands are nearly 22,000 mothers simultaneously breastfeeding their babies. In an attempt to not only shatter the record, but to raise breastfeeding awareness in the nation, this event has been scheduled.

Organisers of the Cypriot event, held inside a small concert hall in Nicosia, said the east Mediterranean island lagged behind other countries in breastfeeding, and Wednesday’s attempt was partly aimed at coaxing more women back to it… Cypriot mothers said the pressures of modern life and the work environment were not conducive to breastfeeding.

I can see this is for a good cause in all, but maybe we have a bit too much time on our hands if we are congregating in a concert hall to be part of a mass breastfeeding event.

Maybe it’s just me. But for what it’s worth, at least shut the door so I don’t have to look. I know its natural, but I’m somewhat repulsed by the public display of hunger.

So I was browsing the superhighway over on HearYa when I came about some new tunes to listen to. I was excited to hear something like this, a NY based band named dead heart bloom. Shockingly the band is giving away their two albums free on their website.

It’s that singer songwriter kind of acoustic music that is as always reminiscent of the Beatles but they have a whimsical, bohemian style that earns the band an interest, further than the post-beatles acoustic indie rock category. You can hear the different influences from song to song, which are contrasting, but worth watching how they all become melded into the direction they are taking their music. It’s worth a listen, and definitely worth a free download. Cue up your web browsers and check them out.
